Understanding Weight Loss Pills
You may have heard of the fast growing diet pills we can see almost everywhere, over the counter in pharmacies, even grocery shops. Are these safe? Will you really lose weight?
With the power of TV ads, print ads, showing off ladies and guys who have really svelte bodies, with a 'before' and 'after' pictures, one really gets persuaded to buy these weight loss pills.
But, the question is, have they really been proven by your government's department of health and reviewed as safe and effective?
First off, let's talk about the types of weigh loss pills. There are two basic types of diet pills, the prescription pills and the non-prescription pills. The first type is prescribed by your doctor. These types of diet pills are closely regulated and have FDA approval. Examples of these prescribed diet pills are Xenical, Meridia, and Phentermine. These pills have been tested and have been proven to be effective for weight loss.
The other type of diet pills falls under the 'Non-Prescription pills'. These are also called the 'weight loss supplements'. You can buy these over the counter, would only have minimal FDA regulation. Examples of these types of diet pills would include Herbalife, Metabolife, fat-burners, herbal weight loss pills, and other diet or sports supplements.
One thing that you always need to take note of is its authenticity. Do research. You have information at the tips of your fingers...so always take time to research on a particular product before you purchase them. You have to remember, especially for these non-prescription pills, that don't have the clinical study reports to back their advertised results.
Nothing is earned over night. And...if it's too good to be true, then it maybe is.
There is no magic pill, or magic spell for losing weight. You should know that you always have to work for it. The most effective way is to make changes in your way of eating, and take time to add more physical activity to work off extra calories that your body intakes.
Do you think taking diet pills would mean that you can still eat the way you do now? If you are thinking "Yes", then, you are sadly mistaken. Diet pills still need the work you would be doing even without these diet pills. Initially, you would see the changes and results, at once, when taking these diet pills, especially, if you are vigilant on the types of food you eat, and conscious of the physical exercise that you add on to the diet pills you are taking. What is scary is that you may need to continue taking these pills, even after you have reached your targeted weight. Now, that is something that you have to really think through. Is it safe to keep taking So, be cautious and wary of these diet pills. Over the counter or not, why take the easy route? Isn't it that knowing that you have worked hard to achieve your target a lot more satisfying?
